Aluminium blinds - what’s new

« Back to blog

We keep on buying the aluminium blinds because despite their obvious functionalities, i.e. the efficient protection of interiors from excessive sunlight and heat, they can be easily matched to the interior design. This is also a product that is constantly changing, it is modernized so it can cover the windows and decorate the windows in the best possible way.

What to pay attention to when it comes to novelties:

  • Slats: wood-like and perforated. The wood-like aluminium blinds are available in colours of wood. You can also choose wooden accessories (a masking frame for the upper chute and handwheel). When it comes to the perforated blinds, the slats have small holes. It gives them this modern look and makes them not to shadow a room completely when the window is covered. The sunlight goes through the holes and is slightly dispersed what causes a pleasant half-shadow in the room. It's important if you often work at a computer in your home. This kind of blinds is also perfect for office rooms.
  • Width of slats. The aluminium blinds are available in three widths of the slats: 25 mm and 50 mm. It's really convenient as it lets you fit the blinds into your window - it's recommended to use the blinds with narrower slats in case of smaller windows, while it's a better choice to use wider slats when the windows are bigger.
  • Colours. The aluminium blinds have the richest colour selection among all of the window coverings. New colours are emerging so you can match them to interiors of different character: you can choose brighter hues for kitchens and rooms, so the interior will not be completely shadowed even when the windows are covered. And when it comes to bedrooms, you can select a darker colour, so you can relax even on a sunny day.
  • Installation. The aluminium blinds can be attached to the window frame, to the window recess, wall or ceiling. The installation manner depends on the size of the cover, e.g. smaller blinds can be attached to the window frame, while bigger should be mounted on a wall or ceiling.
  • Control You can choose manual (system located on the left or right side) or electric control.

How to choose a proper width of aluminium blinds' slats

You can choose from three widths of slats in case of aluminium blinds: 25 mm and 50 mm. But you must always make sure that those three sizes are available in a given category of coverings, e.g. the wood-like blinds (colours similar to those of wood) from the Knall selection offer two widths of slats: 25 mm and 50 mm.

It is assumed that smaller slats (25 mm) are better for smaller glazings. They look delicately and nicely, and they won't dominate the window space. In turn, the wider slats (50 mm) are more suitable for bigger glazings. They will look more aesthetically and it will be much easier to control them. In Knall, we make blinds against individuals dimensions provided by the Customer. You can choose the slat size and match it to the dimension of the whole blind.

Cleaning of the aluminium blinds is completely trouble-free. You can use a special brush that will be accurate in swiping away all the dust from slats. You can also wipe the slats with a cloth damped in water with mild detergent. It's worth taking the blinds off the window from time to time and clean them thoroughly by immersing them in water with detergent.
