More »Sectional garage doors are currently the most popular solution when building or renovating a house - almost 80% of people choose them. Undoubtedly, this is due to their numerous advantages. For years, using the garage was associated with the need to get out of the car, open the gate leaf and return to the car; which does not sound scary until we imagine an autumn downpour or all-day snowfall that begins to linger in front of the garage.
In the Knall online store, we offer Kronway gates, which are popular all over the world. Among other things, they checked in hurricane-prone regions. Weather conditions change in Poland, which can be observed especially in the summer, so it is worth investing in the highest quality gate. Kronway products have numerous certificates and a 10-year warranty.
Advantages of sectional garage doors
The advantages focus on saving space as well as safety and economy of use.
1. Space-saving - because the gate opens vertically upwards, moving along the guides located under the ceiling, the curtain does not require additional space for the movement of the leaf. Thus, we can have a small driveway or even not have it at all (e.g. the entrance to the building close to the sidewalk, which is often the case with terraced houses). An additional advantage of this solution is that we do not have to pay attention to weather conditions in winter - snowdrifts will not prevent opening and closing the garage. An additional house decoration in the form of, for example, large pots with flowers on the sides of the garage will not be an obstacle - there is no outward opening sash, there is no risk of overturning and damaging the decoration. In addition, the guides are mounted from the inside wall of the garage, which means that the shape of the upper wall of the so-called lintel (can be, for example, arched).
2. Safety - sectional doors are designed with the safety of not only users, but also the entire house in mind. Structural solutions (panels, hinges, springs) are to prevent pinching, the door curtain will automatically rise when it hits an obstacle, and the additional protection of the cable at the tension springs is to prevent it from falling automatically when the leaf breaks. In addition, because sectional doors consist of identical elements (segments) connected by flexible connectors, they are much more resistant to damage, which can prevent burglary attempts.
3. Economy - sectional doors are especially recommended in energy-efficient houses. The steel panels from which the armor is made are filled with a special foam, and there is a sealing system at the segment joints and the entire perimeter. Thus, we have effective protection against the cold, which is of particular importance when the garage is built into the body of the house and/or when it is heated.
The advantages of sectional garage doors also include the aesthetic appearance of the building; the dimensions of garage doors have a significant impact on the appearance of the entire façade. In the case of sectional doors, the whole fits nicely with the exterior of the house.
We must also remember that the comfort of using the garage is connected not only with the car. We often keep bicycles, a mower or a snow blower in it, which means that easy opening / closing does not necessarily have to be related to the use of the car; the beginning of autumn can be particularly favorable, for example, for frequent use of bicycles
