Pergolas - a simple and aesthetic way to create shade

« Back to blog

It's full spring. Still a little cool, but too sunny. In a moment it will start to get warmer and warmer. For several years, the summer period has been associated with high temperatures and heat. It is worth taking care of an additional shaded space today, where you can relax on hot days. The more that this summer season will be completely different. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, many people will not be willing or able to go on vacation. Many holiday destinations are closed for the time being.

We will spend more time in home gardens or allotments. This summer will find us in a reality that no one would have expected six months ago. Maybe it's a good time to change something about the garden. We often don't have time for this. Pergolas are a simple and aesthetic way to change the look of your terrace or the space around it. They will help create the shaded place we need so much when it is hot. A place with extraordinary aesthetics, if there are climbing plants next to it.

Advantages of a pergola
A pergola is a structure consisting of two side walls and an arched roof. They are made of various materials, e.g. stainless steel or galvanized iron, but most often they are made of wood, which is a natural material and therefore very universal in use. As a rule, they are used to shade the terrace, but they can be found anywhere in the garden. Pergolas are part of the so-called small garden architecture. They create a place that adds charm to the garden because usually climbing plants are placed next to them, which over time entwine the entire structure.

Thanks to the plants under the pergola, we have a natural shade, which is cooler than in an artificial one, created e.g. by a garden umbrella. In addition, the sun shines through the leaves / flowers, which gives it a charm. Afternoon coffee in such a place takes on a different flavor. The "roof" formed by the plants will also protect against light rain, which is another advantage of the pergola.

Undoubtedly, the advantage of a pergola is also quick and easy assembly. After ordering, ready-made parts are delivered, the connection and setting of which takes several dozen minutes for an efficient team. The place where the structure is to be located must be carefully considered. It can be placed anywhere in the garden or plot. It can be an element of the terrace roofing, thus creating a shaded area where we will rest on hot days. However, if there is already a cover above the terrace, e.g. in the form of an awning, the pergola located next to the terrace enlarges the shaded area and creates a decoration. Lighting elements may also appear on the pergolas, which will create an additional atmosphere. Especially during evening meetings with friends.

Thanks to the pergola, we can make better use of the area outside the house. Create a place where you can rest comfortably in hot weather and enjoy fresh air without restrictions.

Pergolas in the Knall online store
When arranging a garden, it is worth considering solutions that are not only functional, but also have a lot of charm. The Knall store offer will soon be expanded with pergolas that will allow you to fully enjoy the summer - rest in the shade when it is hot and stay outside when it rains lightly. A pergola is also a way to embellish the surroundings with plants and flowers: a climbing rose or a vine will create a unique decoration in the garden.
